Meeting in Paris with Mark Kingdon, CEO Linden Lab - Second Life

Me meet Mark Kingdon, CEO of Linden Lab, makers of Second Life, (metting organized by PR Lewis agency), within the french SL community (were present Nicolas Barrial aka Nick Rodes, Dan Benzakein and Julien Aubert, Cyril aka Gromike, Wangxiang Tuxing, Fred Cavazza, Etienne Armand Amato, Richard Malterre, Yohan Launay et Nicolas Mas, Ange Zanetti, Roger Folliard aka coulaut Menges, Audrey Lohard aka betty Renoir, Jean-Marie Louche, among many others). He spoke about the future development of the Virtual World.

Subjects : Overhaul of the technical plateform, improve the user experience, better integration and accompanying for noobies “first hour experience“, internationalisation of the servers.

We are yet working on the new island for EuroCampus, a space dedicated to education, culture and science, for Universities, Research Labs, Museums. There, we will open next month the APC laboratory area for Université Paris 7 Denis Diderot. (This lab lies at the interface between the study of the very large and the very small, and it brings together several communities (experimentalists, observers and theoreticians). It is centered on three themes : cosmology and gravitation, high energy astrophysics, neutrinos.)

There will be at Eurocampus (29 april) a special event for the launch of the Planck Satellite at Kourou (The Planck mission will collect and characterise radiation from the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) using sensitive radio receivers operating at extremely low temperatures.)

Salomon and her team : The Paris Rive gauche Island, with its Quays, its Secondhand Booksellers, its Galleries, its Cafes, its Decoration Shops, its theater, its barge… a space only dedicated for rent — events, exhibitions, conferences.
